TV Sundays

Criminal Minds and Girls.

Every Sunday I'm going to do a post about one of my favourite TV shows; past or present so look out over the next few weeks for reviews on Grey's Anatomy, Blue Bloods, The Following and more.

Criminal Minds is a show that I have became obsessed with recently and watching episodes from various seasons has convinced me enough to buy the entire boxset on DVD. This show has everything: entertaining and intriguing characters, suspenseful storylines and interesting insight it how serious criminals operate. I've never been a huge CSI fan - the only one I watch occasionally is CSI:NY - but I do love a good crime/police show. This definitely pushes all the right buttons, and you should definitely give it a watch. More than anything, you might learn exactly how to deal with a serial killer waltzing through your door.

RATING: *****

Girls is one of the best comedies I have seen in a while. These are the kind of situations more realistic in a womens' life than Carrie and her 'I can't pay my rent but look at my new louboutins'. Hannah, the main character is like marmite; you either sympathise with her or think 'jesus christ, you are so self-obsessed'. Her friends, Marnie, Jessa and Shoshanna provide great comedy and are exactly the kind of friends you want in life. The guys are intriguing but at the same time a little crazy - they really how to pick 'em. It's onto season 2 now, which I will admit hasn't been as good as the first season; with the exception of episode three which is without a doubt the funniest episode of any comedy I have seen in years. If you're going to give it a watch season two is currently airing on sky atlantic, but I recommend watching season one first.

RATING: ****
